Questions, answered.
Can I buy a template today?
Yes. You pay once on Stripe's secure checkout (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and more), with VAT included where it applies. Your download unlocks the moment the payment goes through, and the order stays in My Forge.
Why is the price different where I live?
Prices are set in euros and shown in your currency at today's exchange rate. Outside the EU, some countries also get a regional price based on local purchasing power, up to 60% off, so a server costs about the same share of a budget everywhere. You always see the exact price before you pay.
Do I need an account?
You can check out with just your email, but every server belongs to a free SMPForge account: that's what activates the download and keeps it on every device. Tick "create my account" at checkout and it's done for you (no password needed), or create one later and claim the order with the number from your receipt.
What will I get when I buy?
A ZIP with three things: launchers for Windows, macOS and Linux; the SMPForge Dashboard, a local app to start and stop your server, manage operators and the whitelist, change settings and see the address to share; and a server folder with your server.properties, plugin configs, permissions and server icon. Your SMPForge plugins are included, and the first time you press Start the dashboard installs Paper (or Purpur) 26.3 for you, straight from its publisher, plus Java if your computer needs it. Nothing else to install.
Can I use it with a hosting provider?
Yes. Upload the contents of the server/ folder through your host's file manager or SFTP and use their panel instead of the dashboard. README.txt has step-by-step instructions.
Which Minecraft versions can join?
Your server runs the newest Minecraft, 26.3. In the Forge you choose the oldest version players may use, all the way back to 1.8: free ViaVersion engines translate for older game versions, so nobody has to downgrade or update to play together.
Which server software does it target?
Java Edition servers running Paper or Purpur. Add the Bedrock Crossplay module if you want phone and console players to join too.
Do I need my own host?
Either works. Run it on your own PC with the dashboard (it shows your public IP and port, and README.txt walks you through port forwarding), or upload it to any host that lets you upload files. The Forge estimates how much memory your setup will need.
Is Starter SMP really free?
Yes, with no trial period or time limit. Add-on modules are optional and priced individually.
Can I change my build later?
Saved builds stay editable in My Forge. Open one in the Forge, change anything and save it again.
Is SMPForge affiliated with Mojang?
No. SMPForge is an independent tool for server owners and is not an official Minecraft product.
